The Village of Mariemont is one of but a few planned communities in the United States, with a rich and unique history that is the the hallmark of the village. The first things visitors notice when arriving in Mariemont are its tree-lined streets, Tudor-style buildings, and historic charm. Designated as a National Historic Landmark community in 2007, Mariemont will remind visitors of the quaint English garden neighborhood from which it was modeled.

The Mariemont Tree Advisory Board selected a native Bur Oak to plant in honor of the Native Americans that lived within the “Madisonville Site” (located at the west end of Mariemont Avenue, adjacent to the Village swimming pool).
Mariemont Elementary students will provide Arbor Day artwork and will participate in planting the tree. A proclamation from the Mayor will also be read.
We are very excited with our Arbor Day plans and certainly hope that you can join us!
The public is always welcome, but Mariemont Preservation Foundation (MPF) would appreciate notice if anyone wants to attend, particularly if they want to address the Board of Trustees, so that it can be put on the Agenda. To contact MPF, please call 272-1166.

The Village Service Department has a scheduled limb collection route to collect branches and large limbs. Limb collection will occur on the *FIRST Monday and Tuesday of each month and the THIRD Monday and Tuesday of each month depending upon your street name. Branches and trimmings should be stacked in manageable bundles not to exceed 8 ft. in length or 50 lbs (do not place in boxes or cans) and set at the curb, or adjacent to the street where there is no curb (NOT IN THE STREET) after 6:00 pm the day prior to scheduled day; however, items should be placed no later than 7:15 am the scheduled day to guarantee pick up.
Limbs and honeysuckle under 2″ in diameter and smaller than 4 ft. should be placed in brown paper lawn/leaf bags or a container clearly marked as “yard waste” for Rumpke. Residents are cautioned about leaving the limbs at the curb for several days or over the weekend.
Christmas tree disposal — Beginning January 3rd and continuing through February, Christmas trees left at the curb will be picked up by the Village and ground into mulch. Please remove plastic bags, stands, and ornaments. Wreaths and/or pine roping containing wire cannot be put through the chipper. It is NOT considered brush. Place wreaths and pine roping in your trash can. Refer to the limb collection schedule for pick-up days.

Monthly meeting for Tree Advisory Board members
Description
Expectant parents and new parents – come to the Mariemont branch for a crash course on car seat installation, CPR, and promoting early literacy from infancy. You’ll have the opportunity to meet other new and expectant parents, share your stories, and learn about additional free opportunities in the area. Registration not required for the whole event, but there will be a limited number of openings for one-on-one car seat installation with the Forest Park Fire Department in the afternoon.
