Sign Up to Receive Nixle Alerts from the Village of Mariemont

Receive information directly from the Village of Mariemont on your mobile phone!

The Village of Mariemont now has a new way of communicating important, time-sensitive information to the community via live text* and/or email notifications. Depending on the settings the user selects, these notifications can include everything from critical alerts such as health and safety issues, hazardous materials releases, Shelter-in-Place orders, evacuations to road closures and more in your neighborhood. When a Nixle notification is sent to subscribers, they typically receive the information within minutes.

The two types of notifications the City of Richmond will be using to provide important information are:

ALERT – Highest priority notification that is considered most urgent

ADVISORY – An informational or educational type of notification

WHAT INFORMATION WILL I RECEIVE WHEN I SIGN UP FOR NIXLE?

o The information you receive will depend on the preferences you specify when you register on Nixle.com. This is the most customizable option.

o Your preferences allow you to pinpoint locations you want to receive information

o You can select agencies that you are interested in receiving information from – the more agencies you select the more alerts you will receive

o You determine the priority level of the messages you wish to receive: Alert, Advisory

o You may unsubscribe from text, email or web alerts at any time via the Nixle website or text

o Subscribers also have the option of going to the Nixle website to view information, including past alerts if they choose to instead of receiving the alerts

HOW DO I SUBSCRIBE TO NIXLE ?

o To receive both email and text alerts*, go to www.nixle.com and follow the instructions provided – this method allows you to customize your locations and types of alerts you receive

o To receive only text messages to your cellular phone for incidents pertaining to a specific zip code, you may register by texting your zip code to the number 888777 and you will get a reply text from Nixle with further instruction-this method allows for fewer options and no customization, but you can always log onto the site later to set your preferences

o The text registration method is useful if you are temporarily traveling and would like alerts sent to you that pertain to that specific area

*If your phone’s data plan does not include unlimited texting, rates may apply according to your mobile carrier. Some carriers do not allow texting to short codes (such as 888-777). Please refer to the FAQs below or contact your carrier for assistance.
